Hi.

Just came back from my MOT and failed on following (its 206 1.4 Xreg)

001 Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle excessive 7.3.D.4

002 Exhaust emissions Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits 7.3.D.4

Readings of test:
fast idle test
CO - 0.58% (limit =< 0.3%)
lambda - 1.042 (limit 0.97-1.03)

second fast idle test
CO - 0.60% (limit =<0.3%)
lambda - 1.032

Do you know if that's just because of lamba sensor or air filter or the whole cat has to go??

Cheers, Dave

Mine failed too, when they took the cat off it was empty, nothing in it Smile I thought it was going to fail as it always smelt rich. Mine cost £230, that was for the mot, the retest a new lambda sensor, new cat and cat to rear box section all fitted.
206 1.4 LX ... its called Vera and is built for abuse, but needs a few things, including hoovering out

if it smell rich it won't just failed on CO, it will fail on HC too.

failed on CO rarely because of cat issue.

and saying the openers got a 1.4, lambda was the pre-cat type it will never be able to tell if the cat. is working or not Laughing
