When does it happen. Does it only happen going around bends or does it only really happen when you go over a speed bump or something like uneven ground.

Actually I did have a punter who had a similar sound, and I found it to be the Hand brake cables slapping the tub over bumps. Clip and broken of the fuel tank and it was just floating around.

I had a problem with the rear damper on the passenger side. It just constantly knocked. That happened when i adjusted my torsion bars and fitted brand new Blisten shocks.

jack the rear of the car up so both wheels are off the floor (get some axle stands involved). Lift your wheels up and down and have a look at where the sound is coming from. I dont think it'll be the trailing arm bearings.

yeah ive put new dampers onit yano! recon it would be worth puttin the old ones back on to see if the noise goes atall? i cant remember if it did it before or not! its really p**sing me off tho! i have jacked it up on axle stands and i still cant figure out were the noise is coming from! most annoying problem ive come across! i did attempt lowering the torsion bar with no luck before bt im sure it clunked before that!

£10 says its the rear dampers. Slap the old ones back on. Do it 1 at a time so you can find the offending item and return your new one from whence it came and demand a different one. Thats what i did and their both mint now. Result.

ive changed the shocks over today............. its still the same! bt as it was jacked up on stands i lifted the wheels up and weirdly the drivers side was alot easyer to move than the passenger side! and there seemed to be a clunk coming from the torsion bar some how! any ideas anyone?

Is it lowered by any chance? Sounds like the bearings have gone.
