As above i'm sure it's been covered a hundred times but my car is at 71,000 and it's in need of a belt change. I have asked a few garages round here that simply won't touch it or give out silly times to do it with silly money and have never done one before. I have been to the Pug main dealer round here and they want £400 without water pump... surely someone knows somewhere round here (lancashire) a wee bit cheaper that know's what there doing.

400 quid doesnt seem unreasonable. esp for a main dealer who usually charge a silly amount. iirc the book time for a 180 cambelt it around 4 hours. so slightly longer for the water pump etc. if thats parts included id say thats a fair price, considering the locking tools etc to even be able to do the job in the first place dont come cheap usually. At the end of the day if its your pride and joy you want a decent job doing. a cheap job is exactly that. you get what you pay for.
