What is the highest spec. 2.0l HDI??? I was planning on getting a 180 next year but have worked out that I can save over £2000 by getting a diesel :/
I've got a "Look" at the moment which doesn't have much in tbh so I'd like one with the best spec. possible.

Thanks Smile

Highest spec as in interior? or highest bhp?

I'm quite partial to the DTurbo spec
Regarding highest BHP, then 2.0HDi with a remap and an intercooler, lol or just a remap

130bhp sitting right here

I'm not fussed about the power, I drive a 1.1 so it's 50% more power already lol

Thanks Seabook Smile

Probably a later Sport or SE. They have most things including digital climate control and rear electric windows. GLX and Roland Garros were higher spec still, and had a 6 disc CD multichanger but not rear electric windows. (But these weren't available with the diesel engine).

Sport has alloy wheels but (5dr) has manual rear windows. GLX and SE have steel wheels (as standard).

Is it not the DTurbo? Could find one with optional extras though.

SE is fully loaded, full leather and the rest.

Dturbo is nothing special tbh.

GTI-HDI (1.6) is the best spec as same as the petrol GTI with half leather etc but the engine has too many pitfalls. 110bhp out the factory opposed to the 90bhp for the 2.0 but it can be a cracking engine if you have deep pockets

if your plans are you want a fast diesel the 1.6 would be a good base to start as they remap well but you need to have the DPF taken out and the bsi updated too and remap and for higher stage 2 a front mount intercooter

cost is a good £500 but you will have around 150bhp, you could do the same with the 2.0 but a little more would be involved but would be cheaper than removing all that dpf

GTI 180

Thanks guys, I'll be looking for a SE then Smile

If it was about power then I would get the 180 but the overall cost just isn't worth it at the moment, maybe when I'm a bit older and have some no claims bonus I might revisit the idea Wink but for the next car I'm just gonna go with aesthetics and economy driving.
