Abit of a strange one but here we go, over the last 3 weeks the car has been lazy to start with the battery going low and having to jump start it. So got a new battery as the old one was just under 11v of power in it
fitted new battery all good untill left for 2 days and the same is happening again so took it back thinking the battery may have been a dud one and guess what ... its going flat.
im getting 14.4v when its on idle and over 12v when its just been turned off. leave it a few days and its back to just under 11 again hence not starting
somthing must be draining the battery but what? the only solution is to take the power lead of but its getting annoying now
ive called a auto electric and he says its a needle in a hay stack and at £50 p/h it could work out expensive
any suggetions?

Have you done anything electrical to the car recently? New head unit or messed with any wires?
The BSI should shut everything down after a few minutes and put the electrical system to sleep. Is there any loss of charge from the battery if it's left off the car for a few days?

It has a after market cd player but thats it, its loosing around 0.5v a day i know it dont sound much but let it a few days and the bugger wont have enough power to start it
The cd player has been in since ive had it but as soon as the key is out its off

Could be your alternator. Using power to start up the car but then not being recharged properly whilst driving. Or a dodgy earth somewhere

will try the cd player for a few days see how it go,s. as for the alternator would you still get 14.4 v??
if i use it day in day out a few times a day its fine its just when its few for a couple unless you pull the lead off it

i had exact problem with my 206, having to jump start the car all time and it was even going flat when i was driving, my warning lights would come up so id pull over and then the car would die.
i took it to mechanic and it turned out to be a corroded earth going to the battery, it cost me like 15quid to fix.
i dont no if yours has the same problem as mine because like the electriction said it could be a ton of things but just check it out

If it was the alt, you would have it failing while you're driving too. Alt looks to be fine. I reckon you've got something permanently live when it shouldn't be i.e. amps/cd player/something else.

Pull the rear seat forward and check the boot light isn't on. It's the one thing you can't see when the car is locked up. If the switch has gone or the wire is shorting out before the switch then the light will be on all night.
Even check the glovebox light (if fitted).

Its easy enough to find a parasitic drain.
Find a DECENT auto electrician.

as above check all the obv things. if your mechanically minded you could disconnect the live or negative on the battery and put a test lamp between the terminal and lead. if there is a decent drain the bulb should light up. ( as you have currenct flow ) you can also use a multimeter set to ammeter setting. then disconnect fuses until the light goes out/reading drops to 0. lighting stereo etc. id steer clear of disconnecting control modules etc if you dont find anything as it could lead to a hefty bill. other wise find a trusted auto electrician.
