I was wonderign if these 2005 1.4 206 engines had covers, or if they were meant to be naked like this... Also, what is the point of engine covers?

Mine is the same engine as yours, on an 02, and doesn't have an engine cover as standard.
I think they're fitted on cars to muffle the engine noise.

engine covers are cosmetic... some engines look Fugly without them
