Last night I started my FMIC installation.
Going well so far but time consuming.
atm I am positioning it in the middle before I fix it in place, here are some pix so far:
But I wanna know if the AC can be ripped out completely to give me more access for the pipes..
There are 2 ways, over the dryer or under it but it is a problem and I never use the AC, ever so if it's something I can do I will remove it.
Also if I get it out, it should improve the cold air going into the radiator ect...
So is it possible to do without a garage or tripping a sensor?

As long as the gas inside the system is removed by a professional you can safely remove the ac components.

I removed the gas in mine by accident...thought I was undoing a nut on the bulkhead - thinking the rubber cover would come off...but the gas came out instead.
Now I have no air conditioning bits left at all...all the wiriing has been stripped out of the loom too. Saves a whole 10kg!!!

you can but i would have though you need a new aux belt as well

The belt drives the AC, Removing all components will require a smaller belt as you will have removed the pulley for it. At least that would be my guess.

Because without the a/c compressor the original belt will be too long ...

just leave the aircon pump fitted and remove the pipes from the back of it once it has been drained.
the aircon pump pully is free rolling untill the aircon is switched on so you could always remove the wire from the back of the switch to make sure it cant be switched on

Be easier to just unplug the compressor.

I did a complete Air Con Delete on mine no problem (once degassed). Just get the non-air con model belt from local factors and robert's your father's brother...
