Hi guys,

i've been playing about with the mechanical side of cars for a few years now and have learnt and fixed quite a lot succesfully, just stuck on this though as unsure what parts to replace,

1 (front to rear) brake pipe excessively corroded 3.6.b.2c
2 rear to (L.A.V) brake pipe excessively corroded 3.6.b.2c
3 (L.A.V to flex) brake pipe excessively corroded 3.6.b.2c

my guess is 1 equals the black copper brake lines running from master cylinder to the rears

think the flex is the flexipipe to the caliper but im unsure what a L.A.V is and also which sides to be looking at
any help would be greatfully received

LAV is load apportioning valve,

that will be the brake compensation valve which is located on the rear trailing arm

Fantastic, not had chance to have a look yet, would i be right in assuming there are two pipes running underneath car into the "lav" and then from there to the flexes on each side??

one last question is there only one of these and is it located offside nearside or somewhat in the middle on a 99 1.1 petrol 206

can't remember which side but you should be able to see it through rear wheel, it's normally cable tie to the trailing arm.

Just so im looking at changing the right pipes,

L.A.V to flex = two pipes to o/s and n/s flex pipes from the lav

Front to Rear = two pipes from master cylinder to the rear??

this is the confusing part

rear (to L.A.V)??? do the pipes join again underneth the car or is it a straight run from master to lav

im going to change all rear pipes from master cylinder all the way through to the flex joints, does this sound right or am i missing something that would be visible when underneath the car??. sorry to be a pain but one thing i have never dealt with is replacing brake pipes, getting them on and off i can do but having them made at a local motor factors.

i think once you have a look underneath you should be able to spot the problems.

the rear brakeline is like this:

2 copper pipe from the MC to the brake compensator; then copper pipe->flex pipe->copper pipe (calipers/drum) on each side
