Yet again my car is playing up, was only in the garage last week to have the same issue sorted

Water was coming in through the bonnet vent and into the ecu, garage removed the ecu and sent it to a ecu specialist where they found it was full of water, £168 later they said it was fixed, garage thought it was a bit overpriced and there was no report for the work the ecu place did to rectify the problem. Picked car up and sounded fine apart from the engine light came on, thought it might just be from the work done as it sounded and responded fine.

Went to use it today and started up fine, left the engine to warm up, after 2 mins the rev needle went ballistic but actual engine idle remained normal for about a minute, gave it a little gas and rev needle went back to norm but as soon as i lifted off the gas the revs slowly started to drop and the "stop" started flashing followed by the engine temp gauge needle going from cold to hot and then back again 3 times then the engine cut out.

Turned the ignition off and then on again but didn't start the engine, noticed the engine temp gauge needle went to hot then to cold, did this 3 times but also noticed that the fuel pump didn't kick in.

This is the same problem i had last week down to each issue and was told it was the ecu which i was told after paying £168 on monday that it was sorted, only for it go again less than a week later so you can imagine my anger at being without my car again for however long it will take but also I got to try and get the ecu place to fix it properly without paying as I refuse to pay another large sum for something that should have been fixed the 1st time.

As much as I want to get a 180 because there cheap and fun, my 206 is really putting me off

would of broke this ages ago. cant belive your spending more money on it? take the loss mate get rid!!! ebay 99p no reserve. plp will pay what ever it is worth. your on a loss and everytime you spend money on it your on a bigger loss. you could of had another gti from the money you have spent trying to fix it, they cost about £800 fully working order!. as a whole car is worth about £500 if that, break its worth more, but your still not going to get as much as you would like.

bite your tounge and get rid!

the reason for me trying to sort it is to get as much money as i can for it rather than trying to sell it as it is. I can't afford to go out and buy another car if i sold the 206 for say £500 as it is. Anyway, I shouldn't have to pay anything to get it sorted because its exactly the same issue as before and was gauranteed it was sorted less than 7 days ago

The engine, gearbox and axle would have to be left in the car or i will have to pay someone to remove them as i wouldn't be able to do it myself or have the tools

well break it then? said this from the start. my offer of £500 was a serious one and may sound low but i would need to make a proffit also. plus collection would cost me £100 as it does not drive. then there is all the time and space it take to do it, not easy when you have a 9-5 job. just getting about finished breaking carlos car

Well had a phonecall from garage today to say that the ecu was fooked! As a result the ecu guys will be replacing it with another re-conditioned ecu and shouldn't have to pay anything extra
