Hi guys,
Hi to all, I'm new here having just bought an 04 1.4 hdi for commuting. I have a feeling ill be around quite a bit, as I like to 'play' with my cars.
I have a quick question for you if you don't mind.... I've had the car 6 weeks and its just been back for a new comms 2000 (dav) due to the old indicator over cancelling problem.
The problem I have is that on collecting the car I now have no radio stalk!! The dealer is adamant they have fitted the correct 'updated' model sourced from peugeot (and fair play its obviously brand new) but they don't seem to grasp that it must be the wrong unit as there's no radio stalk?
Am I correct in thinking they have just got the part number slightly wrong? And that there will be a slightly different unit with the right stalks?
Will it cause anymore issues other than the obvious lack of radio stalk?
Thanks for any advice
Nick

The stalk just unplugs..
I would assume the COM and stalk are sold as separate items, but cba to check right now
Is this seriously a Peugeot dealership? This is certainly worrying...

Looks like you'll be getting a new radio stalk as a replacement for the one they have misplaced.
Make sure you get a courtesy car because they may need your car for a few days if they offer that bad of a service.

It was an independent. Won't be going back there in a hurry!! To be honest the now wonky steering wheel and oil finger prints all over the interior mean if I do bother getting the radio stalk replaced, it certainly won't be there!!!
I'm not sure ill bother with it if I'm honest, I just want to make sure that its absence doesn't mean an incorrect unit which would cause other issues! It all seems to work ok.
If I do decide to put it back, is it a comms 2000 strip down or does it literally just push into the opening for it and plug in?
Cheers for your help

Not at all, just get the outer surround off (between steering wheel and clocks, may need wheel off) and just plug it in, couldn't be simpler. I'm amazed they didn't put it back on.. and I'm guessing they just binned it?
I took mine off about a year ago, had an aftermarket stereo so served no purpose

Thanks all
I'm going down the aftermarket headunit route anyway hence my not being all that bothered.
I've got to take the wheel off and straighten that up as its a few degrees out since they had it too! I was going to use the opportunity to upgrade to a gti leather wheel tho.
Cheers for your help and advice
