Anyone know an average price for supply and fit of front discs and pads for a 206?

I've been quoted £65 from one garage and £120-£140 from another. Big difference.

2001 Megane 1.6i Dynamique 16V
2008 207 1.4 HDI
2014 Focus 1.6 TDCI Titanium Nav
2020 Jaguar E-PACE Chequered Flag D150 AWD + 2002 Ford Focus 1.6 Ghia run-a-bout

That's what I thought but they confirmed the £65 included fitting.

I'm not after top of the range, just standard everyday discs and pads.

yes for 65 they will be getting the cheap parts. can lead to them being noisy sometimes too. notnsure if the braking is affected by the price must be or it might be durability and the time they last you

Brembo discs are about £40, Apec £15, Pagid £20. Pads anything from £13 for Trupart to £40 for Ferodo. (Motor factor prices)
Add on about a hours labour which will vary from place to place and you will have your price.

There is no guarantee that the place charging the most will fit the best parts. They may like to make a good profit on the parts they fit. If they charge you £50 for the discs, would they prefer to make £10 profit or £35? Bear in mind that most traders get a healthy discount on parts anyway so they can do better prices than the rrp if haggled with.

Ask for a price breakdown on the parts and labour, and also ask which brand of parts they are going to fit. Don't settle for the answer "whatever the supplier sends" because most suppliers will stock 3 or 4 brands and will always send the one that they make the most profit on, although that may not be the best available.

Think I'll buy some decent discs myself and pay someone to just fit them.

I would have a go doing them myself but I don't want to c**k up on them.

Not sure if anyone lives near.
