1. Car starts ok when cold but fails to idle, sounds like it is missing, keep it at fast idle for 2-3 minutes and the car will idle but sounds like a faint miss.

2. This is a 2000 peugeot 206 1.4 GLX, I thought they were OBII compliant but it fails to talk to talk, I thought all petrol cars from 2000 and diesel from 2004 were OBII compliant or is that wrong. If its right then why is mine refusing to talk, have tried it in all ingintion settings.

Thanks

Steve

Sounds like the protocol is wrong. IIRC Peugeot use the ISO protocol.

Hi, thank you for your replies, I am using a Maxiscan MS509 using OBII/EOBD with a OBII lead diect into the plug in the diagnostic in the fusebox.
i have used this scan tool befre but it was on a 2002 peugeot 206 that why I was thinking it was an age problem.

I was hoping it might show up a fault code of the misfire.

Its 2001 onwards built petrol engines for EOBD compliance.

Right I found out that when the car was warm the car would stall when any electrical item was turned on, checked battery and even though it had a full 24hr charge last night it was still not giving out full charge to the car, changed the battery and it stopped stalling when items turned on. Must have been a duff battery.

Car runs better, I changed the coil pack, and about to put some red x in with some fresh fuel to see if its a dirty injector.

Whats the possibility of the cold start sender unit being faulty and the car over fueling and not missing? if so were about can I find it and could it be faulty.

Has anybody any more suggestions

Thanks

steve
