Basically, i am a young nob for even asking this but it has got me thinking, if i remove the airbox off of my 206 1.1, this will obviously make a sound that appeals to a young person but makes a more mature person feel sick. Obviously the air filter will be there but will it damage the car in any way, i already know about bad mpg but will any severe damage be done? THAAAANKS!

I've been thinking about drilling the air box for a slightly better sound, can't imagine that removing it would be good for the car but perhaps drilling the underside wouldn't be so bad, although it still wouldn't be good for it!

If you remove the airbox, the filter will not be there...
If you want the sound buy an induction kit.

If the air filter is in place then no damage.

Hopefully the sensors and ECU will spot that the airflow is different to the expected design parameters and adjust fueling accordingly so you may not be hit too hard on the consumption front.

Not all old people (I am one) dislike the sound of an open inlet and the induction noise. Though where there is no net gain and on something like a 1.1 it makes me chuckle to myself.

It's a 1.1

Do you really want to be like one of the McDonald car park crew and have all the noise only to be overtaken by a grandma on her electric scooter!

If you want the noise, save up your pocket money and buy a decent car that will have the power to match the noise that it puts out.
