The mileage MAY be stored in the ECU rather than within the dash panel. If that is the case a dash change from a scrapper would fix it. Any one confirm?
The other option, LCD readout change, may be possible and I think there are a few threads on here about that but I don't recall seeing a succesful one.

Will changing the dash change the recorded mileage or is that stored in the ECU?

If i remember correctly you need to get one of a car with lower millage than yours at the time of swapping.

It's a pre-plex so the new mileage will be what's stored in the memory on the cluster. You don't want to get one with too much difference as the mileage is recorded on the MOT and if you get a one that reads less miles than the previous MOT, you may be asked some awkward questions if you come to sell the vehicle on.

Or officially inform the DVLA and they will record that change. Future buyers do get suspicious of things like that though.

1.4LX is speedo, temp and fuel gauge only IIRC. Too lazy to walk out and have a look at my daughters car. If you have a rev counter then it is the wrong cluster.

I am wrong. My daughters car has a rev counter, speedo, fuel level and temp sensor. I was getting quite confused about dash panels and was thinking of my son's long gone Corsa.
Also I am no longer sure that the speedo is cable drive as that was also my son's old car.
I will do some checking and put the right info here bed soon as up at 05:15 tomorrow.
Deepest apologies.
