You could try PMing Mr BSI but I am not sure he is here any more. He knows these inside out but rude and arrogant posters may have made him leave.
EDIT: Yes his profile says, "now retired from info."
Probably the biggest loss this for forum has had.
Try a PM he may reply.
Hope someone can assist soon. Sorry but I have no knowledge of the central locking on these.

Could be that the signal is not being sent from the BSI to tell the door to lock/unlock.
Might be a faulty motor lock assembly or might be a bug in the BSI or it could be a bad connection on the wiring loom.
When you say the round fob, I'm taking a stab that the car is over 11 years old. Thinks wear over time. The wires that travel into the door have flexed a lot over that time and can break.
If you got the car from a garage, take it back and have a word with them to see if they will put it right. If you bought it private, then I'd start with doing the free checks first. BSI reboot, check connections, check continuity of wires. Then you start moving onto paying money out. Get a replacement motor lock assembly from the scrappers (pot luck if it works) and there are 2 types on the pre plex. After that it could start getting expensive.
If you can't find a fault, and you can live with it, that's OK. But is there really any point in starting to spend big money on a car of that age?
