Hi guys, bought my car in august without an MOT, took it for one, and this is what it failed on
>>> Offside Rear Rear position lamp(s) adversely affected by the operation of another lamp (1.1.A.3f)
Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle excessive (7.3.D.4)
Exhaust emissions Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits (7.3.D.4)
Nearside Side repeater incorrect colour (1.4.A.2f)
Offside Side repeater incorrect colour (1.4.A.2f)
Advisory Notice issued
Centre Exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases (7.1.2)
How easy & costly will these repairs be. P.S, I've bought a new janspeed cat back exhaust system, so should this eradicate the exhaust fail issues?
Thanks, Dan

Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle excessive (7.3.D.4) A good blast and a tank of Shell v-power just before the re-test
Exhaust emissions Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits (7.3.D.4) Could be linked to above
Nearside Side repeater incorrect colour (1.4.A.2f) Change the bulb for an amber one
Offside Side repeater incorrect colour (1.4.A.2f) As above
Advisory Notice issued
Centre Exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases (7.1.2) Only advisory, but worth fixing. New exhaust or maybe just a bit of exhaust compound over the hole.

Macca I have smoked repeaters with amber bulbs. I take it this is ok? Would they be classed as wrong colour?

Not a clue what side repeaters I hate to be honest. I'll be buying new ones anyway.

Mine are smoked with amber bulbs and never had a problem.
There is no requirement on how bright they should be, but they should be visible (if looking from rear) between 5 and 60 degrees from the outer edge of the vehicle. An 'e' marked repeater will be sufficiently bright, any other should be visible from a reasonable distance. What is a "reasonable distance"? What ever the person looking at it decides. Personally I would say 30 meters as this should give another person plenty of time to react when they see it if they are driving/riding at a speed appropriate to the conditions.

Thanks for the advice Macca I've got my new exhaust, so fitting that should help. I'll buy new side repeaters, and with regards to the rear position lamps, I've bought new lights since, and they work fine.
