hey everyone i have a 99'' gti the handbrake does about 11 clicks but only hardly works i had a new axle not long back so i think it may need adjusting as the pads are ok. can this be done on the handbrake it self underneath?

Yep just tighten the bolt under the handle.

Easy job mate, took me 5 mins the other day... Remove torx screw (T20) at back of handbrake surround. Then you should see a long screw thread and nut. Use a 13mm deep socket or 13mm spammer to adjust. Be careful not to adjust too much cause the nut will go off the end of the thread.

Or don't tighten it too much like I did and snap the cable!!

Not essential but should be common practice, jack it up to make sure the wheels still rotate freely.
