I was looking into selling my 1.1zest 206 and buying a 206 1.4 hdi van
I was wondering how reliable they are, how economical are they to run and would anyone recommend doing this.

I\'m new here, thought i\'d join as i\'ve just bought my first car, 206 1.1 zest 3 black (55)

I would bud, the 1.4 hdi vans are brilliant on fuel, really reliable, always fight through and i didnt have to replace one thing for a year except a drive belt, try and get a fleet van meaning it will have alot of service history and be in top notch as its repaired probably. Power isnt that great but what you expect? i havent drove a 1.1 so i couldnt give judgement lol hope it helps

i got one as a works van its on a 54 plate done 84k now (got it on 38k), its thrashed day in and day out been serviced once i that time (3yrs). all that its needed was a bottom pulley as the old design was faulty and pugs changed the design of the newer ones.
gives around 50 mpg all the time and as said that is flat out full throtle all of the time.
ok its not the fastest of things normaly sits at 85-90 without to many problems keeps up on accelration with most things driven like it should be it will give 60 mpg.
really can not fault the thing.

on a back road playing

I've heard good things about the 1.4 hdi car and van, but why get a van as you could just fold/ take the seats out if you need to carry things and then put the seats back and you can have more passengers!

I had a 1.4 HDi as a courtesy car years ago. Even round town it would average 60mpg.

Cheaper insurance. Boy racers don't drive vans.

My partner brought a 1.4 hdi 206 and i brought her 1.4 8v 206 from her. Wished i had saved for a hdi instead, the hdi is so much better on fuel and a lot cheaper to tax.
Its not that much slower then the petrol 1.4, but running costs is miles better.

only thing about the van versus car you wont benefit from the cheep tax.commercial tax is over 200 notes.dont think the insurance will be cheeper either.
