Hi,

Sorry if this question has been answered before.

For several weeks, I've had a light go up on my dashboard, telling me there is something wrong the airbag.

I can sometimes while driving hear a 'hissing' sound, which sounds like the airbag is deflating or something, it comes from the passenger side and the funniest thing is, it goes away when i hit the brake? and then it momentarily 'hisses' again and again goes away when i hit the brake pedal.

What is the best thing to do about it? I've i'm baffled what this is.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you

Has the passenger airbag has been turned off on the switch near the steering wheel?
If not, you need the codes reading with PP2000

The hissing sound is coming from the brake servo.

The hissing sound is the brake servo leaking air - not linked to the airbags.

The airbag fault is likely to be either the squib behind the steering wheel or the plugs for the pretentioners under the seat but the best way to find out is have the faults read.

macca1411, Thanks again for your reply.

No, the airbag has not been switched off. I'm pretty sure about that.

How do I deal with reading the codes? Not familiar with this?

Thanks

Is that brake servo leaking air dangerous?

How do I get the faults read?

Thanks

The airbag issue if the seats have never been changed will be the plug near the bsi, the hissing noise is the servo which needs replacing, I have a spare one pm me for details on it and fitting.
Very Happy
