a couple of months ago i bought a y reg pug 206 which at the time seemed like a lovely car....great to drive ran as smooth as a babys a**e. knew it was due for mot, car looked fine when checked it over and ran mint. after taking it for new tyres i discovered that the wish bones needed replacing on either side ready for the mot. before i fitted these i decided that i should take it for an mot knowing that it would fail to make sure that there was nothing else seriously wrong with it. however my wife took ill so i took her to the hospital a and e then parked the car in the supermarket car park next door. when i fetched the car it kept cutting out with no warning at all but would start again fine with no problems. no lights came on the dash and the car was driving fine it lost all power 7 maybe 8 times then was fine. i took the car for the mot and as suspected it failed on lights wishbones and emissions. so i took the car home home and replaced all the bulbs took hid conversion kit off the front and put standard bulbs back in replaced the drivers seat belt started the car to check the lights and it was fine. by this time it was dark so left the rest till morning. however the next day when i attempted to start the car there was nothing it cranks but wont fire. so i called a mechanic he checked all the wires theyre fine, we changed the coil pack as there is no spark and the new 1 didnt get a spark either so we tried the plugs that didnt work. i tried to bump it and nothing also tried to drag it but nothing the exhaust just puffs smoke as if its trying to start. ive even had the rac and they cant find the fault. when it was plugged into a computer a list of faults came up but were able to clear them. turned on the ignition and they were back again. i have no idea what the problem is does anyone have any ideas on what to try now??????

2 tips:

1) Putting " heeeellllllllpppppp!!!!!!!! " as your thread title just makes most long term forum members not even bother reading your thread.

2) Try using paragraphs & punctuation to break up the text as I just gave up after the first line, BIG block of text = just cant be bothered to read it.

Is the car cranking over at all?
Have you got another key you could try?

Could really do with the list of faults it's chucking up to diagnose what the problem is.

For a start i wouldnt bump start it or tow strt it as it hasnt got a wood ruff key, this could cause a world of sh't if the bottem pulley slipped..
the random cutting out i would have a look at the igntion barrel it bad need a new one or possibly the earth strap broken?

you havnt said what engine it is, i guessed it was gti

Crank position sensor. Sptoms are - car will randomly cut out. Car will also run fine sometimes and fail to start at others. When the car wont start check the leads for no spark and check to see if the fuel pump is working. If the crank position sensor is failing you wont get any of these as the ecu doesnt know where the crank is so cannot operate.
