Some nice update/grades. Do you have some more pictures how to fit the cooler? That would be really helpful

Thank you very much Austin!!
Slowride... I am happy to give advice on the cooler front. Biggest thing being to make sure you have EVERYTHING you need BEFORE you start as it is a pretty invasive job. Once you start, if you do not finish, it is a sod to reverse to drive away.
Issue I had was that Tweeks sent me the wrong sandwich plate bolt - it was a female to male, instead of a male to male. As luck would have it, my mate had another Pug lump in the garage from a 306, which when pulled apart, revealed the right part for the job.
Oh, and the Autoquip clampless hose.... yes I believe it will not leak even without clamps, but bloody hell is it hard to get over the pipework. Must have boiled the kettle a dozen times and used litres of Fairy liquid...

Just to update for those looking to fit the oil cooler in the same place. When you do, the fan motor fouls on the cooler unless you go for the slimline which I don't suggest as it would no doubt mess up oil pressure. So... all I did was take the spacers from the old bolts, got some longer bolts (M6 x 50) and then got some studding connectors to allow for the spacing. Simples...
Oh, you will also need to pull the power steering pipework/cooler forward a little to compensate.

Hay Matt what oil are you using in the motor now? What's the volume including the cooler system?

Looks great, enjoy reading your progress - what alloys are they though? I'm unsure on them - not that, that matters haha!

Johniban - you may be looking at a photo where the strut ass'y is in air, and the bush does slip while it does not rest on ground. It is not good to leave it like this for long, but I can assure you that it is in there properly...!
Spike!! I put in 6 litres in total and it has come up aroun 80% of the dipstick mark, so I am going to need to score 7 litres each time I do a change o_O. I am using 10w40 Castrol 2000 from the Opie boys as it is a good deal.
Jamiiiieee - Thanks dude. The alloys I cannot remember. I am out of the country at the moment so I will have to check when I get back home!!

Parents have gone away so the old man's Mazda is out and have hijacked their garage (!) Getting more work done than ever. A few late night sessions in the garage is like a dream come true!! So parts have been ordered to include;
• Rear B6 Bilsteins
• Grooved Black Diamond Rear Discs
• Black Diamond Predator Pads
• New Lateral Arms
• Outer Lateral Arm Bushes
Hoping to get all that little lot done and give the rear a lick of paint in the space of a few days. With this complete it is on to the instruments/interior and any engine internals. All brake/suspension/chassis work will be complete...
Below are the classic "before" shots. Watch out for the "after" shots in a few days!

Stripped out everything from the rear, some unnecessary heat shielding, some paneling - honestly cant remember that far back! Air con all went which is a rear help...
Anyway - update... everything is painted up at the rear and one caliper fully re-con'd - the other being done. Giving everything 24 hours to dry nicely and then it will be discs and calipers back on, new shox on, handbrake cables in, quick bleed of the brakes, wheels on and job done...
Still waiting for lateral arms and bushes, but all is ready as soon as as they get here... Good times.. bring on the decent weather

Righty ho... All done. Lovely new shocks, brakes and all reconditioned.
Lateral arms to be done to complete all of the exterior work on the project this weekend - weather permitting.. so probably not...
