Was the airbag light on before the steering wheel was changed?

The system may be finding a missing airbag in the circuit, thus creating a fault.

I'm heading down the A14 to Ipswich tomorrow and was going to offer to detour and plug PP2000 in, but looks like it will probably be more trouble than it's worth.

But when the fault is fixed what happens?
does it have to be turned off?
