Is it possible to swap the interior light in my 2005 sport for one with a map reading light like the gti's have?

Would it be plug and play or would I need to re wire it? If so what is the best way and what should I look out for (common mistakes)?

Thanks

Yes, you need the roof trim panel.

The connector plug for the map light MAY already be there but without having a look its 50/50 chance Laughing

If the connector isn't there then you will need to wire it up your self.

Ok thanks I will take a look. If I do not have the connector how do I wire it up? Not really experienced with car electrics. Do I need special wires? Do I come off existing wires and tape or use joining blocks?

Thanks

I spliced in to the interior lamp wiring.

I borrowed the connector plug out the 206 I got the map light from.

There are three wires behind the interior light a permanant live, earth and switched live, make sure you scotch block it to the permanant live and earth.
A continuety meter will tell you which is which.
