i have a 206 gti it has a strange knocking when you let off the accelerator it does it in nuatral and when you freewheel it has only done 50k i have just changed both drive shafts does anybody help me with ideas

been told it is the gearbox but it drives and changes gear like it should do.

You might not get much help as a noise is hard to diagnose normally, let alone without hearing it on the internet. Just put the car through different situations and try your best. Eliminate items, ie brake, clutch, hubs etc
