I have a stange pulsating grinding/rattling noise coming from the engine bay (i think from the cam belt side of the engine)
from inside the car you can hear it on first start up and gets quieter as the engine warms up. when you rev the engine the pulsating speeds up, relative to the RPM speed. It started off quiet and is progressively getting louder as time goes on. It doesn't sound like an exhaust rattle and it is not the infamous heat shield rattle because I have that also. so its not that. It sounds more like bearings grinding? could it be the auxillary belt? or maybe the engine mount?
The cam belt was changed 2 years ago and has done 20,000 miles since.

Timing belt tensioner bearing could be. Very dangerous. Engine mounts cant make that kind of noise.
