The difficult part is removing the old manifold, as the cat being on the downpipe and how chunky the original manifold makes it very hard to access the bolts holding it to the head. It's like turning each bolt one bit at a time in some cases and holding the spanner in tricky positions. Once you get that off, bolting the new one on is very easy because the stainless tubes have more gaps between them.

i got mine fitted by maidstone exhausts and it took them about 3 hours. they had to take the alternator and power steering pump off to get at 1 bolt on the original manifold. did not have to buy any new parts, i already had a sportex cat back on there.

Hello, sorry to jump into your post, ive just installed a 4 2 1 manifold onto my 1.6 16v xsi, I was wondering is it normal to get anti pollution fault coming up and engine management light on? I've only got 1 sensor connected out of the 2. If I connect both will they disappear.
Thanks

You will get a fault code if you dont have both sensors connected ive been told installing a 4 branch will always throw an anti pollution fault though? Im putting mine on soon so i'll let you know if i get the same

did you manage to fit yours in the end?
Just got a few questions for people as i'm mega confused. if i fit a raceland 4-2-1 manifold to a janspeed cat back i will still have my cat wont i? and when fitting the manifold do you need to use a new gasket or sealer or anything\/ thanks
