Can anybody give me some advice on how to go about replacing the mileage reader bulb in a 2000 model 1.1 lx??

Take off the surround just pulls off and you will see come star keys start un doing it.

Nope.
You do not have to take the cluster appart.
White bulb holders on the rear just undo (bayonet style).
Replace all bulbs with new ones (around 10 if I mind) because whenever you knock the unit taking it out, other bulbs will blow due to filaments being frail. The milage bulb always blows first because it's on all the time even with lights off.

I had the same issue the other day, I found that the bulb hadn't gone it was a loose connection and giving the dash a good hit worked. Not very technical but saved a lot of palava lol

Filament of the bulb is interminant as it's quite frail by now.
Get ready to replace.
