noticed a knocking on engine, diagnosed as a camshaft is knocking.
expensive to fix? easy to do?

Has it had the upgraded hydraulic tappets fitted?

Just changed my sisters cam in her clio as it had split in the middle! One end had lifted and started to knock the cam cover.

Pre April 2003 built EW10 engine's have known hydraulic tappet issues unless it's already had them replaced by the uprated part.

Well, I did no that, not sure what its called really, its connected to the valves. Thought someone might be interested to see it though!

The complete unit is the rocker arms, the shaft possibly has another name not up on them really.

What issues do they cause? and how can I find out if mine has the uprated or not? Bit worried now with mine being an 03 plate.

As Harry says, the broken price is the rocker, the cam is underneath.
