It will never rev over 3000, it was working fine a few weeks back
Now it just won't go over, I've tried every gears, and the car
Just stutters and, it's like pulling you back if you try go over 3000
Has anyone had this problem? Has my car gone into limp home mode?

best get it on diagnosis. does it struggle,judder,smoke? any recent work done,by yourself or a garage? bit more information will probably help

Is it a diesel by any chance? Ie Dv6 1.6hdi?
Check play in the turbo impeller and intercooler pipes. More than likely the turbo has failed
If it is a diesel though

Nope it's not a diesel, it's a petrol 1.6 and it doesn't have a turbo..

Just got it Mot'd couple of weeks back, now this started happening, didn't do any work on it and yes it judders and struggles when it hits the 3000mark tried every gear, and it won't pass it.
What's a rough price of getting a diagnostic check? The garage is saying 40£, is that alright?
