i recently bought the car and both the brake light and a headlight were not working so i got a few bulbs and set about changing them.

as i was changing the rear bulb it didn't look blown but i changed it any way (i also checked for loose wires, corrosion etc and everything looked o.k)

The headlight now works fine but the brake light still is not working. i have checked the 10a fuse (no. 20) and that is fine.

is there something simple i am missing here before i shell out for a new rear cluster?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would have said the fuse. Have you swapped the fuse with one that is known to work.

Are you getting 12v at the bulb connector?

Thanks for the quick response.

i have just changed the fuse twice (both times with new ones) and still no luck.

i have ran a multimeter over the connector and everything seems fine.

You did fit the correct type twin filament bulb in the stop & tail lamp?

Corroded connection or damaged bulb holder maybe....rear clusters are cheap enough anyway, but if you know someone with a 206 try there's first.
