Just finished doin all the brakes !!!! painted calipers,caliper holders, back plates and new brembo discs (yes just the bits pads dont touch). All sliders cleaned new copper grease now just the easy bit tomorrow puttin it back togther. Question on the rear brake piston why do 2 of the knogins have groves and 2 plain ????? do they need to be postioned in a certain way when puttin the pads in ???? or does it not matter as long as the pin on the pad is lined up with the groove

Yes,
You need to use a tool to wind the piston back into place. Then the pads will sit in the place, put this number into eBay.

I can wind the piston back in no problem i'm just confused as to why the piston has these grooves on 2 of the lugs ie does it have to be positioned in a certain way or is it just a case of there to locate a compression tool if used. Realised id posted in How to@s rather than Problems hence duplicate.
PS. On a personal note deeply regret not buying your interior now struggling to find something thats anywhere near as good.

They are there for the compression tool (i think)
Interior sold 3 days later for the full asking price, it was a steal. Very Happy

You can easily wind them back with a screwdriver, you need to line up one of the marks on the back of the pad with the brake piston.

Yep I've got a decent piston rewind kit but there's no space on the Peugeot rear calipers so a screwdriver is very easy to use on them.
2001 GTi 138, Bilstein Sprint dampers, H&R springs, 21mm Peugeot Sport torsion bars, 22mm rear ARB, Peugeot Sport Group A wishbones, 283mm discs, Goodridge stainless hoses, Maniflow 304 grade 4-2-1 2.5" manifold and system, 200 cell cat, Richard Longman head, 45mm Jenvey throttle bodies, 9.5mm TB spacers, 90mm air horns, Jenvey throttle linkage, Jenvey fuel rail, Aeromotive and Goodridge fuel fittings and braided hose, ITG sausage filter, Radtec custom radiator, Piper Ultimate Road cams, Piper vernier pulleys, Omex 600 ECU. Saxo electric PAS pump, Vibra Technics engine mounts. Samco coolant hoses, TTV steel flywheel, 4.76 final drive ratio, 307 CC 180 ratios. 2019 BMW 530i. 2017 Mercedes C300 convertible.
