The panel between your headlight and black front bumper is the bumper strip (as a whole entity), and you can get a full replacement for about £20 from a scrappy.

For the headlight, you could separate it in the oven, and then replace it with a housing from the scrappy, but it may just be easier to replace the whole unit from a scrappy imo

So all I'm risking is being claimed a whiplash, right? (this insurance culture goes off through the roof in my brain....)
With hope they wouldn't claim, I shouldn't be fixing their car on my own expenses :}

Sorry about your accident. I have a bumper strip you can have free of charge in KMF aegean blue if your anywhere near Yorkshire or can post at your expense.

Wow thanks yorkielassy, members like you prove one more time how lovely this forum is!
I'm in Bristol; I'll get back to you after my vacation (yeah already needed one lol) in two weeks, if you still have it then, and my hunt in scrappy for a KRU tuscany green grille will be fruitless
For the headlight, I'll most probably just remove it to prevent dirt and humidity getting on the reflective surface, while I'm away
I'll still need to drive my car tomorrow, so probably some insulation tape with improvisations will do the trick

It was going to cost you anyway as, as soon as you declare the incident to the insurance, your next premium (and the 4 after that) would go up.
If your car is fully comp, you might as well claim for it on the insurance. Depends what the excess is, it may work out cheaper for you.
As for them claiming whiplash, it's not your problem, it's the insurance companies that sort that out. Alls you will have to do is fill in the claims form and forward any letters you get from the other party or their solicitors onto your insurance company. Your insurance company may come and take a statement from you if you think the other party were partially at fault and after that you can forget about it until renewal time.

I got 3rd party insurance, excess is way higher than replacing headlight, grille, and bumper from scrappy for £70.
I talked and emailed out to insurer all the proofs (photo damage done, description) of that ~7MPH impact, wouldn't cause a sodt tissue damage..
Due to the nature of the crash I wouldn't have claimed whiplash if I were them (even as greedy as..) What chances are this was a set-up accident (the first car hastily fled the scene, remember)?..
I surely bite the bitter pill and carry on

Being third party, the cost of your repairs is down to you anyway, but at least your insurance will pay out for the other party including the whiplash claim.
We had a gang of cash for crash artists around here. It was only when an insurance company looked at the CCTV from a nearby building that they saw the same car in front of the 'victim' on each occasion, and then hastily leaving the scene. The police got involved and it finished with around 20 people being prosecuted for their involvement.
