In slow moving traffic or where the car overheats I can't select gears and the clutch looses its travel, the biting point is then very low. If I was to continue idling in traffic or crawling, the biting point would be where the clutch is touching the ground. When I restart the engine leave it for a few minutes it's all back to normal. The coolant averages 97-98 in traffic and when the fan activates when it's at 100 it brings the needle down to 95. The engine oil is average. Something else must be overheating anyone had similar issue? I have GTI 180.
Thanks

I believe you have a hydraulically operated clutch so I would renew the clutch hydraulic fluid and bleed it, check for any leaks whilst you're there. Hot, old fluid tends to compress without transmitting the force to the other end
