I have a 1999 206 and when i brought it had the original cassette radio. so i brought a maxtech one from aldi. I plugged it in and it all works except when i turn my car off and then on again i loose the set radio stations and the clock on the stereo resets. I've tried the fuse thing and its not that, here is a picture of how my wiring is i know the iso adapter im holding is for my steering wheel controls (i think).[img]

This has been covered thousands of times. Have a look in the ICE section It's also covered in the beginners guide, the link to which was sent in your welcome PM. /Thread closed Thread reopened following PM from OP. There are no red and yellow wires in the loom and the fuse has already been moved to the alternative slot. Photo of wiring to follow from OP.

There is a yellow wire but there is a thick blue wire where it says on the stereo diagram should be a red wire. The picture should be showing now.

You have a non standard colour code on the (black) ISO connector block of the car.
That means either at some point it was cut and re-spliced with a replacement (join not seen) or Peugeot have been at it again.

Assuming the stereo opperates OK as you say:
The following 2 thick wires (Cream & Blue) need to be swaped but, this is a very quick and easy job for an auto electrician. The reason being that they are quite thick gauge and can easily become disconnected at the join, then it would start blowing fuses or worse. Smile

Well, the best way would be to find the locking tabs of the metal spade contacts which hold them inside the black plastic block (unpluged).
By pushing them skillfuly with a very small screwdriver or simillar, they become free and can be pulled-out of their square 'cell'.
Then, use the screwdriver once more to raise (bend) them out a bit, so they'll lock again when you re-insert each one to the correct position this time.

(A bit like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5NksjacerM but should be easier due to larger ISO connector)

OR, chop the wires and bodge it up.

OR, take it to an auto electrician and ask them nicely. [recomended]
