Hello, about a month ago i started hearing a noise coming from the front wheel drivers side and thought it must be the bearing, so i took it to my local garage where the mech said it could be the track rod or springs, so after he looked at it he agreed yeah it was the bearing, so he changed the bearing for £80. After driving away from the garage and taking it for a test drive to see if everything was ok when braking i heard a knocking noise, it only made this sound when i braked and only from the drivers side front. I took it back the next day as the garage was shut by the time i got back and the mech looked at it again. After another two times of getting it back and him saying he`s fixed the problem the knocking when braking was still there. The final time i took it back he put new brake pads and discs and another bearing free of charge on which seemed to stop the noise.
Two weeks later and the noise has come back.
Can any of you good ppl shed any light what might be the problem ?

Nope no vibration on brake pedal, brakes work perfectly. The noise is deffo like something hitting off something as the wheel goes round and only when i use the brakes, cheers for answering.

Has anyone else driven the car, because sometimes these noises sound luke they are from one side but infact its the opposite side...try someone elses opinion while driving...
Did you change both sides discs and pads because it sounds like a warped/bent disc to me..maybe on the opposite side if it hasnt been done??

Thnx for replying, yeah the wheel is sitting properly and nuts are tight. No no one else has driven it, both discs and pads were changed, the mech said the first disc on the drivers side wasnt warped either but he changed it just incase. Yeah its stumped me too, i keep thinking it a loose pad that isnt sitting correctly. Thnx again for replying.

Hi eddie thnx for replying, the noise is like a grinding noise and i hear it when i brake. It`s like something is hitting off the disc when the wheel turns only whilst braking and yes the noise is the same. Before the first time i went to the garage it was a knocking noise then he replaced the discs and pads and now the noise is a grinding noise.

As above to check then...and check the position of the heat shield too...if it only happens when you brake it must be a moving part of the BRAKES...
Does it happen every time you brake???
I would take the caliper off and copper grease the suited surtaces checking the pads direction and caliper piston function..
