According to the old owner it has always done this.
When I have the hazards on (was dropping off something on a busy street) with the engine on - It hunts and throbs on idle.
Any one else's do this?
as I say - the old owner had it for over 7 years and it has always done it, just wondering if there is a fix.

Wonder if an alternator can be uprated in any way? might be something to look into possibly - wonder why the hazards are so draining!

Always best to state car year, engine size etc
But if, when you use headlights or heated rear screen then you don't experience the engine hunting then there's likely nothing wrong with your alternator
If it only happens when you switch on hazards then you have an unacceptable drain in that circuit.

Oh right sorry - thought only one model of 206 had black bumpers - many apologies.
The other electrical items dont make it hunt - Wonder what else is on the same circuit as the hazards!

The headlights and rear demister are a constant current draw, which may cause the revs to drop slightly and stay dropped until they are turned off, where as the hazards are an on-off drain which may cause the hunting sensation.
Easy enough to check the alternator using a multimeter.

Will do that then thank you - should it remain at a constant voltage when the hazards are on?

Didnt know that either - Oh well. Just wondered if this was a really well known thing with these little cars.
Its done it for the last 7 years so it obviously isn't a massive problem. (old ownser is my sister in law so has no reason to lie) just passed an MOT with it so .... meh.
get what you pay for with a funny little car for £350
