hi Dresden the relays are still there the wires to the low speed resistor have been connected back to the relays via spade connectors to the relay. And the top relay that is the high speed is still as it was as itswires weren't corroded like the bottom relay.

There is 2 relays in a black box which is pretty easy to get to and sort out.
there's also a resister at the very bottom of the radiator, which is nigh on impossible to do without taking the bumper off, has this resister, plug, been attended to.

Definately connected OK with the spades and not mixed-up a couple of positions?

You could check the 20AMP maxi fuse, in the engine fuse box, it is fuse number 1
