That does seem a bit low, i struggled to get past 28/29 in my 180 according to the computer but recently ive adjusted my driving style a little and am averaging 34/35 so i'd imagine you should be able to do a little better! But they're not amazingly economical cars really....

Hmm yeah if you can get more in a 180 then there's gotta be something up with mine. I tried that for a week, driving light footed and that's when I got the 32.7, normally its around 30.
They're supposed to get around 40 and I drove a 1.6 version of the sport a while back and that was on 39, so again I think something must be wrong...

I just don't know where to start really. I've just replaced a broken Lambda to put the engine light out. So maybe if I change the map or throttle sensor as I'm also having a power problem when first pulling away from start up. But like I said I don't have enough knowledge and I don't want to just throw money at it!

Thanks for the reply Smile

1.6 16v = 38,9 I was on that for ages so I reset it and was able to manage 42 driving correctly, then just drove like I normally do and its back to 38,9/39,2

Had it serviced recently?
what size alloys did you have before?

On a long drive I get 40-45 mpg at least! What journeys are you doing? How are you driving?

See I knew it was low! Thanks for the reply.

Well I drive quite short journeys a fair bit but what is short really? I try to take it for a spin on the way back too to try and counter the shorter trips and see if the reading goes up. But it doesn't and I guess I do tend to put my foot down a bit, but my previous car was a two litre mondeo Si so I'm used to a lot more go! lol but I should still get more than 32mpg surely.

I've never been able to get more since having the car and adding the cold air induction kit actually made it go up, so I think there is an underlying problem somewhere.
Especially with the acceleration problem I've started getting when first pulling away after start up. There's no power at all it just struggles and then when you floor it, it seems to snap out of it and the revs shoot up again!

I had it serviced last year and the alloys used to be the standard 15s and I now have 17s but with 40 profiles they are the same size, apart from going from 195 up to 205.
