last night in torrential rain the other halves car cut out and struggled to restart eventually after a few tries it started but wasn't running great .I couldn't take over driving because I had a few drinks anyway I drove it this morning and It was a bit hesitant taking off but didn't cut out and seemed better after it warmed up a bit .

Recently I have done the following new air filter new oil and filter cleaned throttle butterfly & maf and changed the plugs because it was a bit hesitant sometimes .

Any ideas ?? maybe coil pack ??

Cheers

Could be nothing other than water has got somewhere that it shouldn't have. I would give it a couple of days and see if it just goes away before starting to strip and replace stuff.

You may have also got a fault code stored that hasn't brought the EML light on so it might be worth having the fault codes read. Though if it hasn't been read before you can have some very old codes that are not relevant. I would start with code read - just note them don't do anything and then clear them. If the fault is still there in a few days time get it read again and start from there.

thanks for the info/ advice
I called greenflag to have a look but of course when they came it was running perfect he suggested possible coil pack but he was guessing ,I have driven it this afternoon and It ran fine. I might change the coil pack tomorrow and see if it makes any difference if not will get a code reader

I wouldn't replace the coil pack. Wait and see

Why spend £60 when you don't need to.

Even if the coil pack is free why start moving wires and connectors and risk inducing faults when it may just have been water ingress that isn't now causing a problem.

If you have a spare coil pack put it in the boot with a spanner and carry around just in case of complete failure but I would not start messing with stuff when it might be a single water induced problem.
