Got the old rear end creek, originally thought it was the boot but it definitely isnt, seen a few things about rear axle bearing? ive looked underneath the rear and all the bushes look old and dry
whats worth replacing?

turns out once i removed the rusted old spare wheel and bracket, and re-ajusted the boot lock position the creek and squeaks stopped.. MAJOR cheap fix

Nope... still creeking lasted 1 day then all the creeking again no idea what causes it but it only disapeers when i ajust the boot latch so you have to literally force the boot shut otherwise a light shut wont work.......... Anyone got an answer? only i would use the SEARCH but its absolute shi-t type in boot noise 1800 matches found not one post relevant to a boot.................

Play in the trailing arm bearings? They can fail whilst the seals still look intact

I think you already know from the other post but as follows:-
Jack the car, put on axle sttands and push pull with hands at 12 / 6 o'clock then 9 / 3 o'clock and push, pull, twist and try to see whjere the play is. Is it in the arm bearing or the hub.
