ok, so i recently posted a problem regarding my icv which has now been sorted, my current problem has been one that has lasted the last 4 or 5 months. Its the dreaded EML, ive had it read and its saying that its the lambda sensor, however ive changed both lambda sensors and since had the code wiped but a day later the light came back on, in my opinion it may be due to the exhaust manifold change i performed but did not change the gasket metal sheets that were there as to me they looked fine, i was unable to purchase any at that time as i needed the car there and then. could the previous compression of the gaskets and the fact that whilst starting the car it looks like there may possibly be a minute leak of steam from the sides and underneath the exhaust manifold that is throwing the lambda sensors reading off and causing the EML to come on repeatedly?? (i have inspected the whole exhaust line and there are no cracks visible as far as i can tell)

Only other issue: i changed my airbag light and whilst having that it read the code stated that both circuits were open in the steering wheel not under the seat, im assuming this means the connectors are not making a full enough connection to the side of the airbag itself hence the light coming on for both circuit 1 and 2 or could it be something else??

Many thanks

What engine is it, sounds like you need to change the gasket on the exhaust. What make we're the lambdas?

What year is your car?
If you changed the manifold and its a mani cat and you bought a cheap one
I bet that is your problem

the manifold was from a used 206 mine is a 54 plate, the reason i changed it originally was due to the cracks in my old manifold.

Some after market cats done have enough internals in the which gives the second lambda a higher reading which puts the eml light on you could try a lambda cheater on the second lambda to take it out of the flow of gases there about a tenner and usually work
