Hi All

I Have a Peugeot 206cc 1.6 and it has developed a few issues.

The car stalls whenever I stop for the first 10-15 minutes while the engine is cold.

The engine overheats but only up to the 100oC mark (never in to the red)

When the car stops it won't restart for 10-20 mins (just makes a single click noise)

any help would be greatly welcomed.

Dan.

The single click noise sounds like a battery problem. Check your battery is at 100% and check the alternator at the same time. Also check the earth lead where it joins the gearbox.

Is it reaching 100 degrees while stationary or moving? Is the fan kicking in to bring the temp down?

When the engine is warm, do the revs hunt? The cutting out could be the ICV.

Cheers will do.

It hits 100oC mark when stationary and drops to around 90oC while moving.
The revs are fine when the engine is warm but they do drop a lot when cold.

It fails to start then the temp is around 100oC and its like I have to wait for the temp to come down before it starts.
Could that be a coincident or will the failure to start be down to the battery?

I have this problem with my 1.1, but the length of time before it cuts out increases the more I drive it.
I\'m new here, thought i\'d join as i\'ve just bought my first car, 206 1.1 zest 3 black (55)
