Hi guys just a quick one (i hope) driving home from work and my abs light came on and brakes definatly feel abit different, stop off into sainsburys hoping it would be fine when i got bqck in. Nope it was still on, then it went off, then it stayed on all the way home.
Is there anything i can check or common faults to no about before taking it to a garage??

Could be a ring or a sensor or could be something completely different. Only way to narrow the problem down is to see if a code pops up when it's plugged into diagnostic equipment.

the short and fastest way is to have code read, this way nothing to puzzle you.

On the way to town this morning it went off and stayed off... does this sound like a sensor on its way out or a loose connection??

Look on the driveshafts for a cracked ABS ring or get a diagnostic done. Otherwise you're just guessing.

Check the wiring to the abs sensors ...

Wonder if the rain yesterday could have been a factor?

If the abs ring has cracked, i would take off the sensor off for the time being, until you get the abs ring fixed, as when the rings go they obviously enlarge themselves and then tend to wear out the sensors.
You will experience intermitent faults like you are having in the mean time.
