Hi,
The cabin blower fan stopped working on my 206 last night, picked a great time to stop working.
It's an old 206 1.9 diesel, 1999 LX with Air Con.
Been reading online last night & today, but not sure on what part to replace.
Checked fuses, engine & cabin - all good.
Stripped out the glove box today, got into the fan and took that out, don't see anything obviously wrong with it, bit dusty in there, but change the cabin filter once a year.
Put wire direct from battery to fan - fan seems to spin fine and clears windows.
Multi-meter on fan supply - getting 11 ish volts, 14 with engine running.
Switch fan to off - 0 volts.
Voltage was bit lower with air con running.
Took out the resistor thing in the duct, looks ok, wires look ok, not sure tho if this can be checked with a multimeter?
One thing I noticed, but not sure if helps anyone -
Switch fan to off, start engine, turn on air con, green light comes on.
Turn on fan to any speed - air con light goes out, stays out until you either switch fan back off or unplug fan.

Did you check the large fuses hidden under the smaller fuses in the engine bay.

Hi,
How do I get into them?
Do you have a picture of what to look for?

I'm thinking that there is a fault with the wiring or switch.
Voltage shows ok, but when the fan goes to spin up and draw power the wire or switch can't cope with the current.
Of that makes sense.
Or would that not happen?

Maybe easier for you to upload a picture of your fusebox and go from there.

Try leaving the resistor unplugged (4 pin plug?) but the 2 pin power plug connected and see if you can get it to run full speed.
If that works (can't think why it couldn't) then the resistor is at fault.

It could the that the switch to fan feed is broken or fan earth path is broken.
Regarding fan earth you can have as many volts as you like but if they can't get to earth then no current will flow. So many people forget to check continuity of earth side.

Pulled it apart again at the weekend.
Cleaned up the resistor and fan connectors, bit of WD40.
Seems to be working fine for now 
I did try it with the resistor unplugged, 6 pin, nothing on any speed, but the proper clean of the fan connection could of stopped it working.
Regarding the earth continuity to the fan, how would I check that properly, use multi-meter on continuity, one probe on fan black wire, other on unpainted part of car body?
