Hi all,
Can you easily replace the alloy GTi 180 fuel cap or does it need to be matched to your existing keys?
I've accidentally dropped it on a concrete floor and it's scratched the rim on one side
I'm not sure if its an easy replacement or not.
Part number and approx price would be great.

You can just take the cap off. It just twists off i believe

As said its a nice simple job, if you remove the fuel cap as if you were filling up, then look at the back of it, it all becomes clear
(As above basicly!)

Thanks heaps for your replies guys, it seems pretty easy enough to replace.
With the actual fuel filler cap itself, I have come across a couple of different variations of it.
My existing fuel filler cap has light silver bolts/drill holes, almost the same colour of the actual fuel cap itself - 4.bp.blogspot.com/_-Ef...G_5488.JPG
Another one I have seen has black bolts - thumbs2.ebaystatic.com...QberNw.jpg
Perhaps the silver/silver is the GTi/GTi 180 and the silver/black is for other 206 models including HDI, XSI, SW etc?
Would anyone have the correct part number suited for a GTi 180 rather than a generic 206?
Cheers

Looking at servicebox, 962669 (superseded part 1508F6 (as first picture)) is listed for the GRAND TOURISME, GTI/S16, QUIKSILVER, QUIKSILVER C U, and FUEL CAP WITH ALU LOCK (whatever this is).
Not too sure if it came as part of the SP pack as my dads 2006 1,4 Verve has one on.
It's possible that the bolts on the second one have been painted to make them stand out. A couple of people have done that in the past.

well the fuel cap silver with silver bolts is the OEM one from factory for GTi models, and the one with the black bolts is the SP one, made in Germany by Zender if I'm not mistaken.

So you basically separate the key mechanism from the cover and swap it? Mine is a PITA to close atm and am tired of it.
