Hi,

I've just gone to change the bulbs to LED, I've put one in and tested it out and they come on at all?

They should just come on with the lights being switched on right?

Where is the fuse for this? I can't see license plate lights on:

Have you tried flipping the bulb 180 degrees as LED's need to be the right way around..

And yes they should come on with lights

I only changed one of the bulbs. The other one doesn't work either and I've done nothing to it.

Could just be coincidence as the headlights are on a separate circuit. Hopefully you haven't affected anything on the VAN network. Are your front sidelights and rear lights working?

Try taking the LED's out of the number plate lights and see if headlights come on.

The side lights and rear llights work yes.. full beam works but only when u flick the stalk they dont stay on for some reason but maybe the engine needs to be on for that.

Im outside now checking all the fuses in the engine box but theyre all OK.

I will give a try

Woooo! Sorted

I checked all the fuses, they were OK, plus the bulbs hadn't gone.

Turned engine on and they work.

I'd been changing all the standard bulbs to LED(interior, map light, number plate light, side light) and testing them without the engine on, So I THINK it put itself into economy mode meaning the headlights won't go on without the engine on.

Something to do with the battery not having enough power, I guess, If not I have no idea.

if you have a voltmeter, you can check if there is a 12V in the number plate plugs, this way you will be sure that if it's the bulbs or the harness,or a fuse.

Just to note the side lights/tail lights/number plate light work on the same circuit, and are not ptotected by a fuse as such, but run through some kinda resister/diode inside the engine bsi, just be careful.

Sorted now mate, could anyone confirm for me that it was economy mode causing it, I'm 90% sure it was but can you clarify?

Thanks a lot guys, Always great help as usual

Your boot lighting would have been active while you were working on the number plate bulbs, i presume the tailgate was open, which in turn activated the eco mode coming on.
Then to get full functionality of the electrics you have to turn the ignition on.

Eco mode limits most functions and turns off the headlights, radio, windows etc
