Hi
Recently bought a 03 206 1.4 8v. Car is mechanically sound (HG fine , fair bit of service history). I did however break some of my 'rules' when buying a used car and not really exam the car properly when buying it.
Couple of things I've now discovered (unfamiliar to Peugeots)
Few electrical gremlins. Heater blower doesn't work unless engine is running (is that usual ?). Mileage display goes dim when side lights are turned on.
Central locking doesn't work at all (honestly I never even thought to check that. Never had a problem with that on cars before).
Which brings me to the thing I regret the most about this latest purchase. It only came with one key and doesn't have any buttons on it. I don't see this as a massive problem as I can live without central locking BUT arrrrghhh just discovered that on the 206 there is no manual boot lock so I have to use it with the boot constantly locked for security purposes (did this myself from advice on here as it was always unlocked, cheers for that).
The engine is fine mechanically and surprisingly doesn't appear to have any oil leaks or gasket issues so happy with it mechanically but how can I run a car with no real boot access let alone sell it on if need be.
IS there a cheap solution to these problems ?

Well first of all,Welcome to 206info mate :),and second,I will answer your questions :D:
1-Heater Blower only works when you start the engine,so that is completely normal :).
2-Mileage display dim when side lights are turned on,that is normal too,because you turn the lights at night,so when you do,so no need for the dash to be bright so that it does not bother you while driving,it also can be adjusted,will tell you about this later 
3-well since you have a central locking,the boot will be with the central locking system,but have you tried to push the central locking button next to the hazard switch on top of center console?
try to check the fuse Number 16,it's a 30A fuse,so might have a blown fuse.
See how things goes,and report back,so we can help you further if that didn't fix your problem.

Hi and welcome. I also only got one (non standard) key when I purchased my 206, and like yours, my boot does not lock. I've got mine tied with rope from inside until I get a new accuator for it.

Its tied so tight that nobody could get in it ......I am going to temp sort it today anyway.....gonna release the holding rod and disable the latch. Safe and secure til I get the actuator sorted.

Checked the fuse box today. Central locking fuse bay was empty and probably been swapped to Electric Windows when that fuse failed. Lazy previous owners you cant beat em !
Replaced fuse now working fine. If only all jobs on the car were this simple eh !

Boot is now permanently closed and cannot be opened from outside at all. Spoke to my mechanic friend today and he will sort it as soon as he is back on his feet.
