Hi,

I have resorted to this forum as a call for help.

I am 19 years of age and finally got my first car a few months ago, i was made up with it! Until, the car started to cut out...

At first it was only every now and again the car would choose to do it therefore i ignored the signs and it began to get worse. It now cuts out near enough every time you set off in first and even sometimes when you are driving down the road in any gear.

When i plug in the diagnostic i am given an error message that is the idle air control system therefore this is why i have chosen to replace the sensors so close to the idle air control system. I have one more sensor to replace and then all sensors have been replaced.

I in the end gave up and decided to take it to a garage, they have said that it is an ECU fault although i have done my research and come across that if it was an ECU fault then the car would run absolutely terrible and it runs perfectly fine until it cuts out.

Does anybody have any idea on how to get my little baby back up on the road?! I don't fancy having to splash out on a new car (You know how the insurance costs etc are these days for people my age!)

Thank you in advance!

Hi welcome to the forum

Which sensor have you got left to replace. A simple clean might solve it click here

One thing you could check is the negative lead from the battery to the gearbox. Quite common for these to corrode at the gearbox end and cause the car to stall.
