As the owner of a 1993 106 for more than five years, I thought it was finally time to upgrade. And what better time with my neighbor selling his son's 206 at a steal of £150!

Little did he tell me however, that it requires £600 worth of welding.

So, whilst money isn't the biggest issue in this, do you think it's worth it? I'll attach the MOT here for you to look at, but I would appreciate any advice/guidance/etc.

Many thanks!

I'd love to see some pictures of the corrosion. It's quite unusual for a 206 to be like that.

Well it will need new brake lines with a new brake bias valve. Then a lot of welding. You will need a bodyshop to take a loook and give you a quote. It doesn't sound that bad

1999 with 105k on the clock, wouldn't bother tbh you could get a much better example with alot less hassle and money overall.

well total cost will be 150+600 GBP=750 GBP more or less,so I would say don't bother, and buy a decent car for 1000 GBP instead

I agree with Timon2210, Get something decent with less mileage on and in better condition, sounds like a bit of a death trap. Who knows what else he hasn't told you about, remember the MOT doesn't pick up every fault so it may end up costing you a lot more.

Can't understand how it could be that badly corroded. Has he been driving it in the sea?!

get some pics up of all this corrosion etc and we can see how bad it really is. then we can give more taylored advice rather than general. the mot makes it sound dreadful but as somebody has always said 206's don corrode like that normally.

As Edward says, any pictures of all this corrosion? I've never seen or heard of anything that bad before. Confused As for the rest, it's simple fixes.

And as the original question goes, what's the bodywork and interior like?

with all the work that needs doing, it's probably going to be cheaper for you to just buy another peugeot. You can get some right crackers for 750 odd, really are a steal.. 105k miles is a lot, and it's pretty damn old. I've got a friend with a 1999 peugeot 206, mint, nothing wrong, 46k miles, worth about £900, so just worth looking around for another motor, Pal.
