Hi all,

I just started my car not long ago and the EML light came on, and it flashed up Anti-pollution fault. I put a fault code reader in and it gave me the code P1622. I took it to a garage a few weeks back and they said I was needing a new flexi-pipe, which might have caused it? Any ideas would be appreciated. It's an '05 GTi 180.

Thanks

IIRC it is a common problem with the 206, have a search of the site and see what comes up.

are you sure it's P1622?? as this fault code means :

Immobiliser ID does not match / System anomaly

so check fault code again plz

Was definitely P1622. I read it using a cheap £15 eBay OBD2 reader so I don't know how reliable it is.

Very unreliable ... you need EOBD for your car ...

Some ODBII readers work but many randomly give incorrect codes. Even my Sealey unit doesn't always work on our Pugs. Last week end wanted to reset the EML on the CC (RFN engine). Wouldn't connect with the Peugeot setting even though this one is the Peugeot/Citroen special (over £200!).

So left it to find it's own and eventually connected.

On our Pugs I normally use PP2000 which is the only thing I've found reliable.

Down to just the 1.4 HDi. Cayman Green 2.0i CC sold.
